Basic Free Diver Course

Freediving is about inward power, discipline and control. If you've always wanted to enter the underwater world quietly, on your own terms, staying as long as your breath allows, then freediving is for you. Taking the Basic Freediver course is your first step toward discovering why freediving is becoming a popular way to explore beneath the waves.

This course consists of two main phases:

  • Knowledge development about freediving principles and safety in a class session.
  • Confined water session to learn breathhold techniques as well as static and dynamic apnea and surface dive techniques.

This popular course is completed in one evening at Pan Aqua. We first meet in the class for academic training and then move to the pool for in water training.

Who can enroll?

  • At least 12 years old.
  • Must know how to float and swim.

What does the $299 fee include? (Join with a friend and each pays $250)

  • Classroom instruction.
  • Pool session, with wetsuit.

What equipment is needed?

  • Low volume mask, freediving snorkel and fins. (rental and/or student discount available for these items).
